Using a camera as an extension of your heart
Capturing the essence of beauty and divinity in physical form
A few weeks ago I joined a photographer friend on a trip to Sicily to assist him with a few shoots. On an afternoon off, I borrowed his medium format camera (a Mamiya 645AFd) and went to the botanical gardens in Palermo to try it out. I was SO stoked to use this camera, I have always dreamed of shooting on 120mm and despite the heaviness and bulkiness of the camera, it was so fun to capture beauty with a new camera and format. I absolutely love using different camera’s to see the world, I can’t explain why, but I have wished many times to grow an extra set of arms just so I can capture the same moment multiple times on different devices (I am going to need a really good tailor to adjust all my clothing though…)
Using the camera as an extension of the heart
You can scroll down to see some of the images and beautiful plant beings (and a few bugs) I captured, but I wanted to share a few words on camera’s and using them as an extension of the heart.
Have you ever thought about what a camera is? What a camera does? How magical it actually is that we can capture a moment, freeze it and materialise it and be able to look at it for years to come?
Camera’s to me are proof that magic exists in this world.
From a spiritual perspective, camera’s capture the essence of what is in front of you. This is why photography is directly linked to the heart, because the essence of a moment, of a person or a being or a place, is felt by the heart. By using the camera as an extension of your eyes, an extension of you being and an extension of you heart, you can capture the frequency and use that moment as a reminder that life is beautiful in every expression of it.
We can do this consciously or unconsciously. With that I mean we can code the images we capture with love and unity OR with judgement and separation. You can use your ability to witness and capture beauty and see the camera as an extension of your being, so you infuse your own frequency into the images and visual representation of this world with the essence of love and appreciation.
When you hold your camera and intent to capture a moment, let your appreciation for beauty and life fill every cell in your body, ask your heart to guide you to capture beauty and divinity in physical form and embrace the camera as an extension of you. This way when others see your images, they will feel the frequency of love and appreciation and see the world through your eyes.
Sharing the beauty of creation and your appreciation for life is no small thing! Not every one is able to witness the essence of beauty and love, and by sharing your images, you allow others to open up their hearts and see that life is beautiful. You are helping to create the New Earth, where beauty is all around, love ever present and unity consciousness the norm.
That is the magic of photography.
Heel mooi Suus! Prachtige beelden ook! xx
